Four 3-hour workshops. A shared framework. A personal prompt library. A process map. And a 30-day practice plan. Online across Australia, in-person in Sydney. Built for design team leaders who want a meaningful, measurable shift. Not another awareness session.

What you're carrying

This is the workshop series for the leader who already knows.

You can see the gap between what your team is producing and what they're capable of. The AI tools are there. The enthusiasm is there. But the output doesn't reflect the craft.

You've sat through enough AI hype to know the difference between a demo and a durable skill. You're not looking for another workshop that leaves your team talking about AI. You're looking for one that changes how they work.

You're carrying the questions your team can't quite articulate yet. What's actually worth doing with AI? What should stay human? How do we build a practice that doesn't fall apart in three weeks?

And you're doing this while leading, while shipping, while holding the standard.

This series was designed for you.

You're not here because you want your team to use AI more. You're here because you want them to use it well.

What designers say after the workshops.

I started from not using AI at all to now, you know, probably daily just trying things. It’s demystified the space considerably. The next step will be turning it into how I change the way I work. The framing in this course has been super important to just uplift confidence in getting to quality. It’s structured perfect for my busy schedule.

Lisa Railey
Design Leader at Atlassian

This was a fantastic course. It was dense and stuffed full of useful and practical information. It really opened my eyes to what’s really going on in AI. Riley was a great teacher who always took the time to go the extra mile and help me, not just with the course material but also how to use it, how to prompt it and how to use AI in ways that helped me get to the next level. I cannot recommend this course high enough.

Kerry Malone
Head of Design

Really enjoyed the practical, hands-on exercises discovering new ways that I could leverage GenAI tools to support the design process. The frameworks Riley taught gave me confidence to say ‘no’ when AI wasn’t the right answer. That’s the skill I didn’t know I needed.

Sadia Mir
Head of Design at CSIRO’s Data61

An abundance of applicable information that can be applied immediately, with a large impact.

Yasmine Richie
Lead UI/UX Designer

Thought provoking and informative. This course was a game changer for not only the way I work with but also how I approach AI interactions and designs. And learning it in conversation with others is a game changer. I highly recommend this course!

The Australian position

Australia has the lowest AI trust in the developed world.

That's not a problem to solve. It's a competitive advantage your team can design.

Trustworthy AI experiences for Australian users are explainable, contextual, ethically grounded. The teams that build them will own the next decade of AU design work. The teams still treating AI as a productivity hack won't be in those rooms.

This series is built for the team that intends to be in those rooms.

36%

Australians willing to trust AI

The lowest globally. University of Melbourne / KPMG, 2025.

Riley Coleman, founder of AI Flywheel. Designer and educator. They/them.

From the founder

Built by a designer who's been here for twenty years.

Based in Sydney, NSW · Delivers in-person in Sydney and online across Australia

I've been a designer for twenty years. I've led service design for government, product design for startups, and design systems for enterprise. I've sat in every seat at the design table.

When AI really arrived, I didn't reach for a course. I started interviewing designers. 240 conversations across Australia and internationally, asking the same question: what's actually changing, and what isn't?

What I found wasn't just a skills gap. It was a thinking gap. Designers were, to varying degrees, learning how to use AI tools. But with Generative AI's non-deterministic behaviour - they didn't know how to work with them effectively. How to bring their judgment to a model that has no judgment. How to stay the designer when the tool wants to be one.

AI Thinking is what I built to close that gap. Not a framework for using AI faster. A framework for staying a designer while using AI well.

The Workshop Series is that framework, live, with your team, adapted to your context. I run every session personally.

The gap wasn't capability. The gap was permission.

01

3 hours · AI Thinking

AI Thinking

Your team has the tools. No-one taught them how to think differently because of them.

Builds the mental model that moves your team from using AI to genuinely working with it. Brings their expertise, quality standards, and craft into everything AI does.

Your team leaves with

  • The 3-layer model for rising above generic AI output
  • The five Human+AI interaction patterns, replacing vending-machine prompting
  • Two to three applied examples on your team's actual work
  • An AI Thinking framework documented and deployed against current projects

The investment that makes every other AI investment pay dividends.

02

3 hours · Claude Skills

Designing Claude Skills

Your team is using AI. The output doesn't reflect your craft.

Teaches your team to encode their craft, voice, and quality bar into AI that produces work at your standard, not the default AI slop.

Your team leaves with

  • A working Claude Skill, built to your team's standards
  • The component taxonomy: SOPs, context, output expectations
  • A repeatable workflow for designing Skills around your team's existing craft

Repeatable output. Recognisably yours.

Riley provides templates, insights and knowledge so whatever your background you can build your own. My AI ability is now significantly higher. Before I attended these workshops, I was unsure what to do. Now I know how to do it.
Morgan Williams Principal Designer, Bupa
03

3 hours · Claude Agents

Designing Claude Agents

You're trusting AI to make decisions across your work. You can't yet see how it decides. That's the gap to close.

Teaches your team to design AI collaborators that use your Skills to make decisions, take action, and connect to the tools you already use. All with appropriate guardrails in place.

Your team leaves with

  • A working Claude Agent, using your team's Skills
  • An Agent architecture with safety guardrails matched to your team's risk profile
  • A repeatable design pattern for building Agents in your specific tool ecosystem

Capable. Safety-conscious. Contextually yours.

04

3 hours · Claude Code

Designing with Claude Code

Static pixels have always been where design stops. Claude Code changes that.

Teaches practitioners to build working prototypes through conversation. Brings design intent to life without writing a line of code.

Your team leaves with

  • A working prototype, built from real team work
  • A repeatable workflow from concept to functional prototype, without engineering dependency
  • Practical command of the Figma to Claude Code pipeline
  • Confidence to experiment with MCPs and Claude Agents in design practice

Not a mockup. A prototype. Built by you.

Four sessions. Thirty days of practice. And if it doesn’t land, six more weeks of us, until it does.

The Guarantee

We finish what we started.

We don't give you your money back and leave you hanging.

We're not in the business of selling courses. We're in the business of helping design teams transform for the AI era.

If your team completes the path:

  1. 01Attends 4 of 4 sessions (live or recorded within 5 days)
  2. 02Ships the per-session artefact: a Claude Skill, an AI Agent, a prototype, an AI Thinking application
  3. 03Engages with the Slack channel during the 30-day window
  4. 04Joins the day-30 milestone review

...and at day 30, you cannot compile a capability brief showing that your team has shipped and is actively using:

  • A working Claude Skill (built to your team's standards)
  • A working Claude Agent (using your team's Skills)
  • A working prototype (built from real team work, not exercises)
  • An applied AI Thinking framework deployed against your current projects

…we work with your team for an additional 6 weeks until you can.

We finish what we started.

The investment

Two ways in. One team. Real change.

Four live, facilitated sessions with a practitioner who has run this exact programme across seven cohorts.

The AI Thinking framework your team will still be using six months from now. Not because they're told to. Because it works.

30 days of Slack support. Not a chatbot. Not a FAQ. Direct access, for the questions that come up when the workshop ends and the real work begins.

An extended guarantee. If the outcomes don't land, we come back. Six more weeks, on us.

Cost of standing still

10 designers losing 3 hours a week to inefficient AI use isn't a training problem. It's a cost problem.

3 × 10 × AU$100/hr = AU$3,000 per week.

The Workshop Series pays for itself in under 6 weeks.

Frequently asked

The questions we always get, answered.

What is AI Thinking?

AI Thinking is a structured framework for how designers work with AI. Not a tool, not a prompt hack, but a way of approaching AI-assisted design work that is intentional, repeatable, and craft-led.

Is the workshop delivered online or in person?

The workshop series is delivered online across Australia and in-person in Sydney. Format is agreed at booking.

How does this differ from LinkedIn Learning, Maven, or AIM business AI training?

What if my team can't all attend live?

Sessions are recorded and shared with your team within 24 hours. The live session is where the real work happens. We don't leave anyone behind.

Can we split spend across financial years?

Yes. We can structure invoicing to suit your procurement cycle. Raise it at the discovery call.

What if this is just another framework that goes outdated?

AI Thinking is based on first principles: how humans reason, how models work, how craft transfers. The tools change. The thinking doesn't.

What sized team is this for?

Up to 10 designers per cohort. For larger teams, we run multiple cohorts or discuss a custom programme.

Will you customise the workshops to our team's specific work?

Yes. The discovery call is where we understand your team's context. Every cohort gets a pre-session brief tailored to your product area, tools, and current challenges.
